About Me

Greg Scheer

I love this song. It has given me greater understanding of what a healthy church and Godly community looks like and has inspired me to be open to learning from the "last" generation. (A young person's reflection on "One Generation")

Does anyone doubt he will be a world famous country singer someday? (Henry, age 9)

I find it so amazing that the music and melody you wrote reflect the words of the Psalm and what I feel in my soul. There are very few songs that do this in this powerful way. (Elna Siebring, Halifax, about "As the Deer")

Ridiculously sad and depressing and beautiful. (Axl, Germany, about "I'm Almost Already Gone.")

We are quite certain that you are the greatest worship minister in the world. (Pam Plantinga)

I just wanted to thank you for a beautiful arrangement. (Dave Johnson)

REALLY nice, fresh stuff. (Carl Schroeder)

Dear Greg, I downloaded the above 2 years ago, and what a great comfort it was to me to hear you sing it, and to sing it from the sheet music in my times of trouble. “Grace and Peace” is so lovely. I have sent it to our pastor here in Knysna, South Africa.  He is only 48 and undergoing chemotherapy and is not feeling so great.  I play “Grace and Peace” and can bless him in the Lord at the same time. Thank you, regards, Laura

Singable and accessible, while being delightfully interesting (Melody Van Arragon)

I don't know when I've come across a new piece of music that "grabbed" me as much as this one (Denise Lo Cicéro, about Sing to God Our Strength)

Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your song from Micah 6:8. What a beautiful simplicity this has! (Tom R VanderMolen)

"Thank you, Greg! I put into practice a few of your hints for creating worship flow this past Sunday and have already had good feedback!" (Kristen M.)

"I like your music much better than anything we have at our church. We have nothing but the latest popular choruses by Hillsong and the like. Nothing original sounding like yours. I like the way you throw in a chord change I wasn't expecting." (Jackie Worth, Florida)

"The Greg Scheer Song Book is awesome! I have not stopped listening to it since I got it." (Karen Duncan, Beaver Falls, PA)

"Greg was very positive and encouraging. He was interested in our church, worship order, and encouraged us to think about a worship team so we aren't just a 'plugged in' part of the service. Everything was excellent!" (Worship team members at Middleburg Free Grace Reformed Church, IA)

"Your CD is the greatest. I've listened to it about 10 times--I cant believe 'A City on a Hill.' I love it. Great on headphones!" (Glenn Vernon, Pittsburgh)

"This is music that will disturb your imagination and delight your heart - a rare combination." (Jeremy Begbie, on my electronic composition "Crossfade")

"Scriptural, great lyrics -- meaningful and inspirational, challenging sometimes -- memorable, singable. In short, I would put most of your stuff up against anything written by that Graham Kendrick slob." (Vic Norman, self-proclaimed biggest Greg Scheer fan in the world)

"You have so many creative juices that you have to wear a drool cup." (Daniel Morrison, president of the North American Araucanian Royalist Society)

"This is the kind of music I would write if I were a composer." (Catherine Pillsbury)
